Product Introduction

Introduction – Why Another Fish Finder?

Most budget sounders give you flashy colors and fake "fish arches" that could be anything from a thermocline to a shopping cart. This one doesn't play that game.

The 6-inch echo sounder you're looking at runs on a simple principle: clean sonar, adjustable power, and two proven frequencies. No mandatory app.

It's built for inshore, nearshore, and freshwater captains who want to see what's actually under the hull – not what an algorithm thinks you want to see.

Hardware That Matters

Display: 6-inch sunlight-readable LCD (not a phone screen glued to a box). Resolution: 800×480. Manual backlight dimming – because automatic dimmers always get it wrong at dawn.

Power output: 300W RMS / 600W peak selectable (yes, you can step it down – more on why below).

Frequencies: 50 kHz (wide beam, deep water) + 200 kHz (narrow beam, fine detail). Run them split-screen, side-by-side, or blended.

Transducer: Included bronze or plastic thru-hull / transom mount option. 9m (30ft) cable. Temp sensor built-in.

Why adjustable power matters:
At 300W, you save battery life and reduce surface clutter in shallow weedy lakes. At 600W, you punch through thermoclines in 200+ ft of saltwater. Fixed-power sounders force you to over-saturate shallow readings or under-power deep ones. This one doesn't.

50 kHz vs 200 kHz – When to Use Each

50 kHz (45° beam angle):
Use this for depth >150ft. Wider cone covers more bottom per ping – ideal for spotting drop-offs, humps, and wreckage. Less sensitive to small bait, which is good when you want to ignore fry and find adult fish.

200 kHz (12° beam angle):
Use this under 150ft. Tighter beam gives real separation between bottom structure and fish hugging the floor. You'll see individual rocks, branch piles, and whether that return is a drum or a log.

No "dual-beam synthesis" marketing nonsense here. You pick the frequency. The unit displays raw return data with variable gain and STC (sensitivity time control).

Installation & Compatibility

Voltage: 11–35V DC (works on 12V and 24V systems)
NMEA 0183 output (depth, temp) – no proprietary nonsense.
SD card slot for saving sonar logs (.slg format – documented, not encrypted)
Mounts included: gimbal bracket (dash) or recessed flush mount. Transducer cable: replaceable (no soldering required if you damage it).

Real-World Test Notes (from a guide boat, Florida Panhandle)

Depth cap tested: 420ft in saltwater, 600W, 50 kHz – clean bottom return before signal loss.
Bait separation at 200 kHz: Could distinguish individual sardines 15ft below boat in 60ft water column.
Clutter rejection: Manual control only. There's no "auto-clutter" that hides real targets. Set your own TVG.
Sunlight readability: 6-inch screen with anti-glare coating – readable under noon Florida sun without cranking backlight to 100%.
6-inch echo sounder head unit
Transducer (specify mount type at order: transom, thru-hull, or trolling motor)
2m power cable with in-line fuse holder
Bracket + flush mount kit
Quick-start card (full manual downloadable – no link rot, we keep PDFs on the product page)
Not included: power source, transducer mounting hardware (screws/sealant are site-specific – use your own marine-grade parts).
