Multi-GNSS compass
Product Description Superior accuracy for all your sensors The GC20 gps and compass enhances the performance of on-board equipment such as Radar, Fish Finders, Sonar, and Autopilots. True echo trails are available when the GC20 is connected to your Radar, helping to determine own ship’s movement...
Product Introduction
GC20 Multi-GNSS compass | Satellite Compass with 1° Heading Accuracy | GNSS Compass
GC20 Satellite Compass – 1° RMS Heading Accuracy with 20cm Baseline for Radar and Autopilot Integration
For vessel operators needing reliable true heading data without the maintenance of a magnetic or gyro compass, the GC20 satellite compass delivers 1° RMS heading accuracy using multi-constellation GNSS (GPS/GALILEO/BEIDOU/GLONASS (optional)) with front-end carrier phase decoding technology. The 20cm baseline antenna design and built-in gyro compensation provide stable heading performance even during vessel turns or in rough sea conditions.
Why Upgrade from a Magnetic Compass to the GC20 Satellite Compass
No mechanical parts, zero maintenance – Unlike traditional compasses with moving parts, the GC20 has no mechanical components. No calibration, no yearly servicing, no repeating costs.
True heading, not magnetic – Provides true north heading directly from satellite data. No deviation correction tables needed for different vessel headings or steel hulls.
1° RMS heading accuracy – Reliable enough for radar target tracking, autopilot navigation, and sonar/echosounder integration. The 0.4° RMS pitch/roll data also supports stabilizer systems.
20cm baseline length – Compact antenna housing (315mm x 142mm x 140mm) fits on smaller vessels where traditional 1m or 2m compass antennas are impractical.

Making Your Onboard Equipment Perform Better
The GC20 enhances radar, fish finders, sonar, and autopilots with accurate speed and true heading data.
For radar users – True echo trails display your vessel's movement and the movement of other targets smoothly, without the jagged, zig-zag appearance common from high-deviation magnetic compasses. Accurate heading data ensures target trails are displayed smoothly and accurately.
For autopilot systems – The built-in gyro compensation system and advanced speed/heading filtering technology provide stable heading data during turns. Fast heading update rates allow autopilots to respond quickly to course changes.
For fish finders and sonar – Accurate heading and speed data improves bottom lock stability and corrects for vessel motion, keeping fish arches sharp on the display.
Fast Signal Processing for Real-World Conditions
Fast cold start (≤32s) – Get heading and position quickly after power-up
Quick reacquisition (≤1s) – Recovers heading immediately after signal interruption (bridges, overhead obstructions)
High turn rate capability – Maintains heading lock during rapid vessel maneuvers
Optional Remote Display (Color Touch Screen)
Select the optional 5-inch color touch screen remote display (800x480 resolution) for bridge installation. Two display modes available:
Compass mode – Traditional analog compass display with digital heading readout
Digital mode – Large numeric heading, speed, and position data
The remote display can be mounted at a secondary steering station or flybridge while the main GC20 antenna remains at the masthead.
Data Output – Standard Marine Protocols
Standard NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 outputs connect directly to:
Radar systems
Chart plotters / Multifunction displays
Autopilots
Fish finders
Sonar systems
Outputs include true heading, position (lat/lon), speed over ground (SOG), course over ground (COG), rate of turn, pitch, roll, and heave.
Installation and Placement
The compact GC20 antenna (315mm x 142mm x 140mm) installs without a metal deck plate or binnacle. Mount on any clear view of the sky:
Masthead
Radar arch
T-top
Hardtop
No calibration or compensation required after installation. The IP56-rated antenna withstands jet water spray and heavy seas.
